Okay Gentlemen. This is 1880s christoph funk drilling. 43 mauser/11mm. The 16g has been lined to shoot 28 gauge. I just recently bought some 43 mauser ammo on Gun Broker and wondered if it is safe to shoot out of the drilling. One is a Canadian made dominion rounds (20 for $100) and 7 rounds of some much older German rounds(7 for $70). The old Germans are in much better condition. Any advice of safety to shoot this rifle ammo fro this gun? The gun is very tight and good order. I am attaching some pictures for you all to check out of the gun, ammo and info I got about the gun from Peter Ravnlund one of the experts on Funk Drillings(I think Peter is from Denmark). Question is do I proof it myselfor get some other idiot to shoot it. Hoping to take a deer with this gun this winter.(this thing may qualify as a primitive weapon!)
