a bit different, but my friend here in the montana country side has an old granary that is completely infested with pigeons - these are big grain fed birds. [he leases his place to an certified organic farmer ] and they make difficult targets. there are literally hundreds of them

they roost in this granary :

and fly in and out of the right side of the little cupola. they come as singles , doubles and more. after the first shots are made, they take every manner of evasive maneuver. looks easy but can be humiliating.. the ones exiting move fast, the incoming are of course slower

i was using this dainty little spanish BLE 28 gauge, very light weight. using # 6s, and passing up lots of shots, but when you hit them, it works quite well

boring pictures but the only birds i have shot this fall so far.
