How does the Spring SxS Classic compare to the Northeast SXS classic? Last year my 13-year-old son and I made the trip from Louisiana to the Spring classic because the dates fell at the end of his spring break. He talked about wanting to go back this year but the dates don't fall during his spring break and the following weekend we have to travel to Memphis.

I saw that the Northeast Classic is being held in June, when he is out of school, and we can take a road trip. We enjoyed casual
sxs shooting and talking with vendors and looking at nice shotguns. With that being said, is the Northeast shoot similar to the Spring Classic?

Chad,
Good on you for doing all that with your son, he will likely tell his grandchildren about it. I don't know how the Northeast Classic compares, but I don't think that is what matters.

I assume you are referring to the Southern Side by Side and the Northeast Shoot at Hausemann's in PA. If you enjoy one, you will enjoy the other. I have attended both for many years. The Northeast shoot is more about shooting with many vendors selling their side by side wares. The Southern is about vendors selling their side by side wares, with as much shooting as you want, but with less variety in targets than at the Northeast. More vendors are in attendance at the Southern than at the Northeast but the shooting is more interesting at the Northeast.

eightbore, yes that is the info that I needed. We enjoy the shooting but fine shotguns are few and far between in Louisiana. It is great to be able to walk through and look at guns and talk with vendors, we enjoy both aspects of the event.

We'll miss you at the Southern, but Hausmann's is a great place too, as the others have said
