I recently picked up a new-to-me O/U shotgun.

There isn't many markings on the gun.

It is a 12 ga with 2-3/4 in. chambers and 28" barrels and double triggers. Chokes are fixed and I am unsure of what they even are.
It is made in France and has the name Francarm engraved on the left side of the receiver.

Here are some pictures of it. I have tried to Google it and really came up with nothing.

Hopefully someone here has some info.

I am going to make a guess here and say I believe it is made by Verney-Carron. The only way I could tell for sure is to see if their makers-mark is stamped on the barrel flats under the forearm. V-C makes some high end shotguns, and this may be one of their lower end models.

Looks like a pretty well-made gun for the price.

Believe, I'm no expert, but is certainly looks like an SKB to me. Don't expect an answer as to why it has French markings. The double triggers and fillets are different, but.......

You see quite a few imported O/U's based on that action. Charles Daley, American Arms Co, Sears, and others I can't think right now of sold them. The trigger plates and overall quality seem to vary a lot. Yours looks like one of the nicer ones. I thought all were Italian, so I can't explain the French connection. All of the good ones I have seen have had double triggers. A few are 12 over .30-06.

I have a similar one made by Antonio Zoli but with 3" chambers and imported by, I think, American Arms Importers -San Francisco. I bought it for $400 bucks about 15 years ago. The guy let me test fire it behind the shop. Unbeknownst to me, he loaded it with magnum turkey loads and got huge enjoyment out of watching the thing wallop me. It was my first double and I still use it some. I shot 3 blue grouse with it last Saturday.

I found a couple that were sold in France. They sold for about 250 Euro's, not very much. Can't track down who the maker was.

I'll take a picture of all the marking on it later today when I get back in town.

JeepT,
I would post these on the GournetUSA site. Geoffrey should be able to help you out.
FYI--Looks like the plate on the bottom of action might be slightly out of alignment.

Not the same lockup as an SKB. Think we can pretty much rule that one out. As Ryan said, a lot of Italian OU's, often relatively inexpensive, used pretty much the same design.
