Pretty fiddle-back wood indeed!

Please be sure to post some pics when it is completed...

If it isn't a trade secret, a photo of the inside of the buttplate and buttstock would be appreciated please?

Mr. Fewless, Looks great so far. I too hope we'll get to see the finished product. I assume this is for a single shot and wonder what action and caliber. Mr. Mann, Very nice work. Are you saying the sleleton buttplate and the exposed wood are removable and weight can be added or removed in a recess behind that assembly? And I'm sure I'm not the only one wondering what you used for the stock finish.

Mr. keith:

It is reproduction of a Frank Wesson #1 Long Range action by Steve Earle that I have taken a few liberties with. It is being built as an International Rules Creedmoor (1000 yard) rifle and is currently chambered in .45-70. It may ultimately be rechambered in .45-90.

I have posted these pictures before, but this is what Mr. Hurst is scratching on...

I can see the 45-70 for warthog, but meerkat? Unless you are doing meerkat burgers! How do you make meerkat burgers after they have been shot with a 15-70? First you find the meat
