It seems that all the treehuggers want "natural" balance. Whatever that means. They believe letin' 'em eat people is more important, I think is what it means. What it means to me is 'take care not let yourself or loved ones become prey', that is: 'defend yourself' if this is the game plan.

Just my take on the coyote, but although I've shot a few, I took no joy in it. To me, the coyote is a noble predator, like the wolf or fox. Yeah, sometimes they need thinnin, so beit.

Why? I don't understand it. Wounding critters with inadequate ammunition is just plain ugly. Broadcasting it on the net is worse.

If you want to hunt yotes' by all means do so, but use a decent weapon.

Gotta say.....I'm with Brent 100%.

On the other hand, might not have been too difficult to find it for a finisher, musta been in a world of hurt.

Makes me wish drillings were legal in more instances!

Best,
Mark

I always kill humanely. I'm not sure that shooting a coyote in the rear with #5 is humane. I won't condemn you but I would have passed.

The guy was hunting turkeys, not coyotes. The 'yote seems to have simply crashed the wrong party. I believe two loads of #5s at that range should have done the job. I don't shoot them myself, though I do seem to call one up every couple of years, but I don't judge those who do...Geo

I have killed two in my yard with my .22 Hornet and they looked like twins of the one above.

Note I said "in the rear". Head shot at that range would be OK IMO.
