I believe I have to stand with the shooters who like and own black military type firearms. I am a memeber of the NRA and send extra money over and above membership dues. I support right to carry and all pro-gun rights legislation. I don't want any limitations non-felon citizens owning that red herring called an "assault weapon".
I believe I have to stand with the hunters that shoot pigs off of a four wheeler with a pistol (on private property). I believe I have to stand with the hunters that shoot coyotes with a rifle at two hundred yards. If Chuck wants to hunt them with a ten gauge Lefever I support that. As long as the hunt is legal and safe I approve.
I hope everyone posts whatever they shoot with their doublegun here. Pig, elephant, pheasant, BobWhite, racoon, coyote,. I hope that they tell details of the hunt, the cartridge, and how much the animal weighs. I believe there should be no shaming of hunters here. Plenty of other BBSs for that.
Now I don't have any black guns and I don't hunt as I described above but I think I will stand with the people who do so that there will be more hunters banded together with PACS and Ducks Unlimited and Quail Unlimited and Pheasants unlimited and NRA. We are a minority and need to act accordingly.
I think everyone should join the side they are on. If they are anti-hunting then join that side and if they are pro hunting they should support all legal and safe hunting.
Like Destry said - we need to hang together or hang separately.
Best,
Mike

I go out of my way to shoot every one I see....shot one about 175 yds with my 7 mag deer while hunting one afternoon. After it got dark I walked over to kick it off in a ditch...dang cat wasn't dead and almost got my leg.
Hunters that don't shoot stray cats are ignorant in my opinion.

Wouldn't a higher population of feral cats break the chain of the deer tick? From Mouse to deer to you!

You betcha Deano- that older Trojan 12 is my "go-to gun" for CQC against woodchucks, raccoons, possums, skunks and cats in barn outbuildings- getting on them with a scope sighted rifle in shadowy conditions is iffy-so both tubes are loaded with Trap loads- sure cuts them a new one-and no chance of a bullet richochet either! I have farmers that love to see me pull in to their driveway- the .243 Win means dead woodchucks and coyotes in their pastures, the old Parker 12 (or a Model 12) means dead varmints in the sheds and dead barn pigeons. And I like to kill vermin and crows and pigeons- On cats-I only kill them in the farm areas at the farmer's request- out in the fields or pastures, like woodchucks and coyotes and foxes- they are "Targets of Opportunity" for either my older Sako BA .243Win. (Leupold varmint scoped) or my Dad's older Model 70 SuperGrade .220 Swift (Zeiss scoped)--I grew up shooting them with Dad-and as a lad went to the Co. dump with my Winchester M61 .22LR and a couple boxes of hollow points-with my pals on Saturdays- and we shot rats until "Hell wouldn't have it!"

Cat hell no, i would not shoot any of those animals because they are not a threat to me or my dog, etc. But I am not a farmer I do not ware their shoes and feel what they feel. Maybe it must be done, I do not know.

I have had cats in the past for pets and really enjoyed them but cats allowed to freely roam kill many songbirds. Most of our songbirds are suffering drastic declines in population and keeping cats inside will save many songbirds ,not to mention quite a few cats.
