Most generic vintage gun events are friendly shooting and gun trading events that don't require or exhibit much dressing for the period. I have attended the Vintage Cup, the biggest vintage gun event in the country, for many years, and have both shot and written checks while usually dressed in Dockers shorts and golf shirts and shod with Timberland work boots. No one seemed to object. True, some local Vintager chapters do prefer proper dress at some of their events, but they are probably in the minority especially during hot weather.
