Even my trio of Nitro Specials suck! One is 80 years old, the next is 83 years old, and the newest was made in the 40's I shimmed the hook of the 80 yr. old 20 ga, now it's as tight as the other two --- which is quite a statement of Ithaca's quality control over what was basically a hardware store gun. I too have seen too many cracked Sterlingworths, have owned a few Elsies that rattled when the forend was removed. I think all of the guys who've owned these guns got their money's worth!
