CJ, If successful, there will be a picture appear in this reply of the trigger guard of an AE 16 gauge with the late style, 2nd gen engraving. I checked the screw heads of two other late A's and they look about the same. Hope this helps. Bill Jolliff

CJ this one is from AE 12ga #32981, kind of crude, but matches the engraving of the other screws on the gun. Jim

CJ, Here's a close up of the AE 16 above. Pretty much like Jim's. Bill Jolliff

My 1923 AE has the same pattern on the screw, albeit polished down some for the reblue.

Thought you might want to see the new screw after engraving was done to match the other screws, the pattern on my gun was very close Jim's as you can see from the last picture,..I just didn't have a liner as fine as the one the original engraver used but I guess in this case it was close enough CJ

Could I ask what that engraving is? I mean, is it supposed to be an image of something or just a cool-looking pattern? If I've missed the obvious, I apologize. BTW C.J., maybe it's just because it's new and fresh, but your screw head looks much better executed than the originals.

Hi Jeff, I think it's supposed to be three broad leafs but there obviously was a lot of variation between the different engravers,...speed was also a factor as the originals were probably done very fast and their tools might not have been as sharp
