Tried to buy one five yrs. ago from a fellow in Tenn. I dithered and it went elsewhere. This one on GB for several wks. Buyer in April bid it in 1090; reneged. Upset the seller a bit but he paid the GB piper and relisted. I let the auction clock run out on it once. Second wk of looking I decided it looked good enuf; put the starter bid on it; no competition. Couple notches above my expectations every dept.

No they're not lgtwgts. This one (which is pre-Lightning standard wgt.) and my 66 Lightning Trap both tip the scale at 7.6lb. Have later Diana Field which is heavier perhaps because of the crotch black which needs to be tunneled out a bit in the butt. The '37 skeet Super which I no longer have 6.5lb and maybe just a bit on the light side for me. But they're not Citoris either, which can be a good thing if you're not built like an interior lineman. Given enuf condition to look good (they all seem to go on and on in the function dept.) I think they're still a bargain if you have a bit of the antiquarian in you and don't find second hand repellent. What's not to like? Pete from Bend will tell you that the long radius, round knob grip is just about the best thing ever. I've always been partial to the wraparound checkering on the Supers and A5s altho I've never been particularly fond of actually shooting the old "hand canon". The forend is special maybe because the Japs couldn't wring the cost of production out of it. JM and the twilight of the Belgian gun industry; interesting combination.

Postoak: This is exactly the sort of target of opportunity which fills the void when you can't find that "ideal" Manufrance. Oh well.
