So this is a hand fitted gun in USA from mass produced foreign parts and there is lotsa discussion about delivery time cuz it's gotta be paid in full or a deposit put down before production. How does this gun compare to similarly priced guns from Spain, Italy, the Lowlands, and Turkey? How is it that Beretta can produce a nicely finished gun at abt USD3500 (e.g. Silver Hawk) without a buyer having to put a deposit down and wait +14Mos. Is CSM missing something in the production equation? Or is the RBL more value than other guns in the price range?

Is CSM missing something in the production equation? It sure wasn't the earnest money, was it? Good for them. If I were Lou or Carol, I'd be asking for a raise or some help in the flakcatcher dept cause all you guys who took a number and won't wait are getting pretty antsy. You couldn't buy a decent bass boat with the pocket change you've got on the line and it's not like Tony G's going on the lam, boys, but apparently when it comes to connoisseurs and patrons of the arts and mysteries, it takes a lot of stroking to make em purr. jack

shoot-n, I saw how & where the parts are being made. It's all made right there in CT in one of the old Stanley Tool Co. buildings. The frames are machined from 4140 forgings, the barrels from barstock of the same steel, the wood is machined in house by a multispindle cnc controlled machine. The parts are so precisely machined, no hand fitting is done. No gaps either. Even the barrels are machined on face to fit the frame.

It would be nice for them to have their own bbs section. A place for the crying towel, a place to thrown in the towel, and show 'n tell when it comes in. I think its all a bit too much.
