Hi all, first off just want to thank all of you for the great respones on my previous post on High Gloss finishes. Which leads me to this one. I have a couple of guns with high gloss stocks and was wondering if you have any tips on how to repair minor scratchs/dings in the finish. I see on the one post that super glue works, never would have thought of that one.....so that other tips/procedures can you give me?

As I said before this really is a great board. Thanks!!

All the best!

Greg

I'm interested in the answers too...I have applied clear epoxy in the scratch, then finished over it, and feathered the repair into the existing finish. The problem for me has been in the rubbing out...I went down to 2000 grit, 5f, then an automotive paste-polish and it still created a "haze" on top of the finish. My final step was to hand-rub in one drop of finish so it couldn't run or pool above the surface to remove those tiny scratches that created that haze. However, if I look for it I can still find it. If someone has a better way, I'm all ears.

I use "3M finesse" it. My supply came from a 3M kit made for windshield repair in Desert Storm.
