In America, you must love it and keep it forever to work for you. I peddled a tiresome Guyot for over year, and never to the local ammo-beer & bait shops mind you. Not much interest, and in the end sold it off at a loss. It was a good enuff gun, but I became somewhat a politico hot head - sent most things Euro packing. Bam-bam-bam went an Audi, Guyot and Anschutz 1710. It was good for me, and had a smoke!

An older fellow told me that Americans aren't too keen on French guns because alot of them are dinged up....said it was because the French were always dropping them when they retreated.

I'd like to hear Hansli's tales of buying, and selling of a good named French gun!

Probably your American massmedia screw your heads, but the French Foreign Legions were the most ugly troops ever exist. I suggest you do not watch TV too much, but read clever books about world history sometimes

It's only a joke, Geno. And likely only funny to someone who never had to contend with the French resistance, or the FFL. Most Americans today have no idea how many more US soldiers would be buried in Europe without the help of the resistance, because the schools here don't teach that, or, much of anything, really, anymore. Best, Ted

Again, Ted, it's history! Foreign Legion and French national resistance during the war are two big differences. German troops took France within several weeks. French generals stupidness and national ferments.

Peut-être, in the very distant future, we will be spared of Thorny posting about his pathetic Guyot experience. He really got clobbered! Veeeery sad.

JC, just my experience on the subject of buying and selling - so you can stand down! ...but it is the same thing with the Italian guns. Not much field literature I guess!

Comment refers to oafish cultural comments, not trade. Keep up M. Glenthorne.
