I hunt/shoot/muck around every weekend and holiday, but have found a 22lr rifle(Kimber) and 17HMR(Cooper) fills the bill nicely between teal and ducks.
...and oh and btw j0e just sixty and as fit as a fiddle - but always have an eye out for them golden years things to do.
No doubt Destry, my shell needs are less than yours.

Nice Shot is $60/2.2lb -> $1.71/oz. Have to add share of shipping cost of the 2.2lb = 35.2oz. It is supposed to load like lead, so it could be used in .410 on up without complicated procedures or special components. The same recipe could be loaded with lead where it can be used, and just put in Nice Shot for when you have to use no tox. It is about the same to a little lower density than lead, depending on the antimony content, so the bushing might have to be tweaked. Or, the slightly lighter charge of the same volume might be OK, as the pellet count would not change for the same shot size.

Sad isn't it King, that was my pet load for the past several years. I've killed hundreds of ducks with them and now I can't afford to buy anymore. I've got about 400 in #5 and #3, when those are gone it's back to steel.

Destry, I couldn't believe the price when I talked to the distributer. It's an exaggeration to say it took my breath away but it set my mind to racing, contemplating an escape from steel, and came up with zilch.

I thought of your post about hunting every weekend and said to myself, Destry's will have to cut his hunting in half. Then, no, to a quarter. God, that's ridiculous. Then, well, I've 3 1/2 boxes of TM No. 5 and two jugs of bismuth.

We're down to Last Stand, every man for himself! Regards, King

We're a niche market guys, those that have steel capable shotguns it hardly even registers a blank stare with them when people talk about the high cost of non-toxic alternatives to steel.

King,

No way, I ain't slowing down!!!!

We're a long time dead as they say. I intend to enjoy it while still above ground even if I have to pass on paying the light bill a couple months in a row.

I'll go to steel out of an A-5 if I have to, it's still a classic even if it's not a double.
