HomelessjOe is just jealous because he does not have an gun nearly as old or as interesting as your new gun. Your gun is a hoot to shoot I am sure, and a part of early double history that is almost all gone.
I bought a Boss hammer gun, made much later sadly, that had been converted into a crossover stocked shotgun. It sold for a small fraction of its' the true value as cross over guns are just an oddity these days. They may cost thousands to convert but are hard to sell and cost more to reconvert than they are worth. To a person who needs one they are great but to the rest of us just another interesting gun to hold. I was quickly told that it would cost more than five grand to reconvert the gun and it might run twice that amount.
So it sits in my gun room and has been shot only a few times. Last trip to the skeet range it broke 22. I cheated and did not try low gun. Missed both birds on 8 and one on station 1. It was a hoot to shoot and it will stay in my gun room until I die. I might loose an eye or a hand and need it someday. So enjoy your new gun and relive a little history.
