Subject: Re: Purdey gun letter for #4236
Dear Mr.
I have looked the 14 bore Purdey Percussion muzzle loading shotgun no 4236 in our records & have found the following information:
Completed in August 1847 for Mr C. Goring.
Number 1 gun of a pair.
30" barrels.
The original cost of the guns was 105.
August 1883 both guns were converted by Purdey's to breech loading centre fire guns with top lever opening, rebounding back action locks & chambered to take 16 bore kynoch perfect brass case cartridges
If you would like this information in letter form posted to their is a charge of 23-50p. Please fax your credit card details. Fax Number 0044 207 355 3297.
I hope this information is useful.
Yours sincerely
David MaynardSo Purdey did do the conversion. Damn that was fun!

Best,
Mike
