Outstanding work. I really like how you and Mr. Kearcher used the browning and dark stained re-cut checkering to give the gun a used but not abused appearance. Hope you can share more pics and details. Keith

No one has mentioned the most remarkable aspect of this yet - the fact that it actually got done, and in a short amount of time.

ALL I CAN SAY IS "WOW!!!!!" THANK YOU FOR BRING THE GUN BACK TO LIFE. IT IS A SHAME THAT THESE GREAT OLD GUNS DON'T GET THE CARE THEY NEED. YOU AND KEITH SHOULD BE VERY PROUD OF THIS ONE. THANKS FOR SHARING IT WITH US. IF NOT FOR YOU, THIS ONE MIGHT HAVE BECOME A PARTS GUN. HOW DID YOU DO THIS IN SUCH A SHORT TIME FRAME? DID KEITH PUT EVERYONE ON IT? FRANK

Terry,

Expect you can have Teague line the barrels and get the barrel weight and handling back to "normal."

I've sent Keith an email with congratulations.

Regards, Tim

Terry,

A billiant way to approach this project. As you said you have guns to shoot. A complete restoration would be costly to say the least and then would result in a gun that would probaly be rarely if ever used. I'm guessing that you have the financial ability to have done this, should you have chosen, and have no doubt that Keith is capable of orchestrating such a project. Instead you have brought the gun back to respectability, maintained the original materials, the original engraving, etc.

Keith has an interesting way of approaching things. He has an engineer's mind and not being "trained" as a "smith", he thinks outside of the box. He is very practical in how he looks at projects.

You have done a great job of maintaing an example of the work done by Lefever at the time of this gun's manufacture. A reference for you and others. Kudos to both of you.

I feel better just looking at the finished gun. The world seems a better place when talent, finances and opportunity get together to save a truly great work of mans ingenuity from the scrap heap or parts bin.You both deserve the accolades and whatever other rewards this venture begets you.
