Only birds I hunt are grouse, and those with a 20ga Fox, so I have nothing to compare for a "best" hunting gun. But I've shot competitve clays for 15 years with a pair of Beretta 687's and been happy with the results. Decided I wanted to shoot registered competiton with a SxS and after 4 months I'm prepared to say I'm shooting better than ever.

Chicago Sidelock Joined: Aug 2006 Posts: 322 Chicago	My Army & Navy 16 ga for grouse, woodcock and quail. The 16 is a little too open for pheasant and my 12 ga Stensby works better for those. If I choose my shots carefully on pheasant then I would have to say the Army & Navy overall.
