Yeah, Dick, where do you get that? How could the price be any lower than $49,000.00??

Ok I mis-spoke again, I am sorry. I can admit when I am wrong.Bottomline in my opinion is he is trying to continue on a great American legacy. I am sure that Fox, Parker, ect would have continued to evolve their product line. I also believe they too would have been forced away from the indepth hand work and moved to machines. I am not a machinist but I do know the Swiss machines out there these days can do just about anything. Its cheaper to feed, house, and care for a machine then it is a person. I don't know Mr. Galazan, but I hope to meet him one day. I am very thankful that a man like him cared enough to start his company and continue on with some great old names and his own new guns. My hat is off to him. 1m89, No need for a recant. I was just passing along what Tony G. told me during a visit to his plant. I whole heartedly agree with your appreciation of TG. He seems more concerned with building great guns than making money. I know some may disagree with my last statement, but those of you that know mfg processes would appreciate what I said if you visit his plant. I think he's spending way more than he's making.

"Bottomline in my opinion is he is trying to continue on a great American legacy."
Legacies aren't continued by reproductions, in my view. Good they are but mementos at best. Mr. Galazan is a doublesman. He admires their provenance and design. From reports, he's a straight up guy. I doubt he'd say he was continuing a legacy.
Nova Scotia sails a near-replica of her famed fishing/racing schooner Bluenose, built by a brewery to sell beer, bought by the province to sell tourism. She's a sight to see and tourists throng to sail on her. She's still no more than what she is: a dreamcatcher.
Guys like ourselves continue the legacy.

I am not trying to stir a fire but I am intrested to know what you mean by that statement. CSMC is very close to where I grew up in CT. Hopefully in Sept I will be there to pick up my RBL28. I have not seen his facilities but I do want to. Honestly I don't know what he has sunk into that business but I have to believe you that its a lot. Again I am totally on your side. I am just intrested in what that means when you said that. I know envy is an ugly emotion. There are a lot of people I believe have differences with Mr. Galazan. Thats not any of my business. All I can say is from what I see, like him as a man or not he has put his money where his heart is. I don't see a lot of others doing the same.

You are entitled to your opinion and I am not here to try to change anyones opinions. I am here trying to gain as much knowledge as I can from the guys here that have more then I. We can agree to disagree on if its a repo or continuing on. The bottom line is his guns are beautiful and in demand. Nobody is being forced to buy one. When the stock market rebounds and I have made back some of my investments I will be ordering a Fox base model from him. Its what I can justifiably afford. I wish I could afford more but right now thats not the cards I am holding in my hand. So for now I have to play the hand I have been delt.

TG seems to have a passion for building these guns. He's acquired a large number of high quality machines to build them and moved into a very large building to house it all. When I was there a couple yrs ago with a friend, he had just bought some barrel rotary forge machines that are fair sized machines intended for high production. He clearly intends to produce lots of guns eventually. I think the RBL line is the stepping stone for his production line.
I would be surprised if he did not make a mainstream production o/u in the future. Afterall, that's where the volume of sales are for doubleguns.

I did not say:
" think anyone who wanted to "avoid the middle man" on the AAHE Parker's pricing need only to wave his checkbook in front of either Remington or Galazan and the price will come tumbling down. Just my suspicion, of course.",
I merely quoted a previous Post and responded.-Dick

Ok I understand that but what does that have to do with me pulling out my checkbook to lower the cost of a Parker AAHE? Believe me I ordered a RBL28 if you don't believe me call and ask him if Allen Harvey is on the books for one. I am looking at buying a RBL20 he has for sale. If he comes out with another gauge in the RBL I will have my order in. Maybe not as fast as you guys but it will be in. My money is out there. Not in the Parker line because I just can not afford that or justify it. But once the stock market rebounds I will be ordering a Basic Fox.

I thought Bill to be saying that Remington, having kept one oar poised over the water in a manner of speaking, might actually consider selling a few of their Parker show gun for less than 50K. I happen to know that Remington had a shortfall in production of primers for the reloading trade in 06 due to loss to retirement of personnel "with intimate knowledge of the process". Apparently Remington execs have maintained daily contact with their lawyers and little else. Could that be changing?
