I have seen the adds for the new Parker over and under. I even concidered buying one. That was till I saw how proud they are of them. Seems to me that for a gun so new and unproven in competition thats a mighty heffty price tag for a basic gun. I think they have some intresting features. Has anyone shot one? If so whats your thoughts on it? Second why did they go the over and under road when Parker was a side by side company? I talked with another gentleman on another site thats a member of the Parker club. He was addamently against the new guns and their choice to go the over and under road.

Dick good info. About a month ago I contacted http://www.parkerbrosmakers.com I saw their ad in either shooting sportsmen or sporting classics magazine. I e-mailed them because due to my very slow satelite internet connection here in Iraq. I could not open the price listings and other pages. So I e-mailed them asking for a catalog or price list. The gentleman sent me an attachment that I was able to open. I then asked him a few questions. He told me the Parker over and under's were being made in Ohio but the company headquarters were in Meriden CT.

So now I am a little confused. Are this the same two companies? Does CSMC build their products in Ohio? I know that their mailing address is New Britian CT. Is my RBL28 being made in CT or OH?

Ok after more investigating I found that I do not believe these to companies have anything to do with each other. http://www.parkergunmakers does not seem to be one with http://www.parkerbrosmakers.com. Parker Bros Makers Founder and CEO is Ernie Lazor.

Is it me or does something seem very fishie here?

Nothing fishy about two different companies building two different guns. That's what is happening here. Galazan is building the side by side Parker to be marketed by Remington. He is also building the RBL and several other guns. Ernie L. is building the over under and has no connection with the Galazan projects. His gun is quite unorthodox compared to most other competition guns, which is what his gun is.

Yes I understand that now. But how can two different gunmakers make guns under the same name?

The names are different Parker Gun / Parker Brothers
The fellow making the over /under re -registered the Parker bros trade mark under his name after the 100 year old pattent expired.. Pretty slick!......Remington still owns the other name....or something like that

The taste of poor quality lingers long after the cheap price is forgotten.........

yeah that makes sense. Now I understand why the gentleman I talked to in the Parker Club was so against the Parker Bros. company. I wonder how he manage to get to use the "Old Reliable". I don't know how the rest of you feel but i think thats pretty cheap. Seeing I can not remember ever seeing or hearing of a Parker over and under. If you have that kind of money start your own original company. Mr. Galazan did it and the companys he bought the rights to he kept as is. Kudo's to Mr. Galazan for that. Just my opinion.

Kind of like the thousands who do a "Tribute to Elvis". Just Copycats trying tp live off a famous name.

Thank you for your service and welcome to the site.
