The ICD Competition model is not a 12 gauge, it is a 30" 20 gauge. It is a one of a kind hand built gun that Steve Lamboy built as a prototype of a heavy dedicated "shoot for money" type gun. It is some gun, but, as you suggest, it is a bit overpriced. Steve built one prototype 10 gauge, but I don't know what the story is on the 12 gauge. I'm not sure one was ever built from scratch. The 10 was not built from scratch but I would still like to own it. Cabela's lists the gun as 6 pounds. I have handled the gun, both several years ago when I foolishly did not buy it, and at Cabela's last month. It is no six pound gun if I remember correctly.
