I was asked to help a friend try to locate a missing Smith &Wesson .357 It was owned by Major Lloyd S. Spooner and I was lead to believe used in the Olympics. Major Spooner won 4 gold metals, 1 silver, and 2 bronze in the 1920 Olympics. Serial number 49614.
What should I do to try to locate any information on the gun? Any advise would be appreciated as his grandson (great) is in Iraq and his Unkle had the gun stolen (?) from his house.
