OK...I figured out how to let you guys turn off the left column inside the individual forums...However, the left column will always display on the Main Index page.
Make sure you are logged in...go to:
Top of page...
my stuff>
my preferences>
In preferences look for check box titled turn off left column.
Check the box!
Then go to bottom of same page and click submit button.
(don't forget this part.)
That should nail it shut for those who don't want to se it in the forum view.
