Where does one obtain those really nice screwdrivers found in the fitted gun cases. I am not talking about Brownell Supersets but those with ebony or buffalo horn handles that are ground custom ground to fit very narrow slots.

They are included in the case when you order your new Purdey, Boss, or Holland. Sorry, could not help myself.

You will find them on ebay, you just have to be persistent. Also "Holts Auction" always has some named turnscrews, oil bottles and gun case accessories. Happy hunting!

You are also likely to find them at such Vintagers gatherings as The Southern SXS next weekend or the Vintage Cup in September. Note that these things don't seem to have quite as good a survival rate as the guns they came with. Ergo, they are scarce and getting scarcer as Vintagers rebuild cased guns to former glory. Double ergo - think expensive for what you get. Named snap-caps, too. Oh, yeah - named cartridge magazines are a wee bit on the salty side.
Oh, the joy of going broke trying to look like you were an 1899 high volume shooter who just walked through a time warp. But then, that is what costume parties are for - and you get to shoot at this one.

At the risk of offending those who ARE competent with one... MOST shooters of guns that orginally came with custom 'turnscrews' would be best advised to consider them only as case decorations. That said...
An option would be have a set made. I have discovered a very interesting BBS system dedicated to the art of the forged blade. The guys there would be most competent to make you a fine set, out of the alloy you chose, finished to whatever standard you want. Railroad spike to super stainless, pine to ivory... they use it all for knife work, seems like a perfect match to custom tool sets. Best of all, they know steel and heat treating and could make something not only beautiful but functional.

What got me interested in these was my tang on my Arrieta had loosend about 3/4 of a turn. I was going to have someone modify the closest thing in the Brownells Superset to fit the screw but someone had a Grace wooden handle short driver that I liked better and he filed it down. I will likely get hime to turn the wood handle round on a lathe and tung oil it, then fit it into a block of wood that goes behind the but of the gun. But the ones make from buffalo horn look really nice, and I could not find them on the net. Jones I will try your website.

Jeff's Outfitters has sets of turnscrews as well. He used to have the Buffalo Horn ones but I think that he stopped carying them.
