Ken,
This Charles Daly caught my eye because of the Jones underlever which I haven't actually seen very many of. It had several generations of brown crud covering everything. About all I've done thus far is use some Breakfree and Hoppes on the bbls which were a milk chocolate brown. One hammer is a mismatched replacement. One fellow calls the stock finish ebonized. I think it may also benefit from a gentle cleaning with some Murphys oil soap. The forend is attached by keyed wedge but when the wedge is removed the forened remains hinged to the frame. It has a solid steel buttplate.
The only markings other than the top rib engraving is the serial number of 1092; an "AR" (I initially thought it was "AH")on the frame in the slot between the watertables; and "RS" on the left bbl next to the bottom rib. Otherwise this gun has no other bbl markings that I can find.
(I did find 3 or 4 varied Linder marked guns with the same "RS" in the same location on the internet. At least 2 were hammerless boxlocks and one seems to have the same 1092 SN unless the "1" is something else.)
I will attempt to add some photos. Your observations are invited. I am most interested in who made the gun and circa date of manufacture. I assume that "RS may be the initials of the barrel striker.
