Mike, it happened to me with my dog. Let her out of the car in the desert at a likely looking spot. Well, it was too likely. In a minute whe was rolling in crap and had that an toilet paper stuck to her. Tar like stuff it was and we couldn't find any sticks in the desert strong enough to scrape it off. A thirty minute ride in the dog box in the Suburban and I had both the box and dog in a car wash. Box cleaned up fairly easily, but had to chain the dog to the wall to spray her. She finally just stood there and took it. First the suds, then rinse, but no wax.
