Can anyone confirm or deny that Bowling Iron Works(est. circa 1778) of Bradford("192 miles from London, 35 n.e. from Manchester, the like distance s.w. from the city of York, 14 n. from Huddersfield, 10 w. from Leeds, and 8 n. by e. from Halifax") furnished tube steel to any of the makers. If they were a souce of steel, then the "BIW&Co." could be Bowling Iron Works. I was also curious if anyone had "Histories of Bolton & Bowling", Thomas Brear, 1891 by William Cudworth: http://www.antiqbook.co.uk/boox/isl/3919.shtml or http://www.yorkshirecdbooks.com/Descriptions/BoltonBowlinHorton.html . The books a might bit more than the CD.
