I had the same problem with an English boxlock and a local 'smith fixed it. He said the sear was worn on the ejector which was firing ll the time

Thanks for all the suggestions so far gang. I already had removed the ejectors and checked for burs or any cause that might bind them together causing both to eject at the same time. Guess I'll go back and do that again as I could have missed something. I still feel that something like that has to be the problem, I just can't seem to put my hand on it. Please keep the sugestions coming. I'll win eventually as I won't be happy until it's working properly. Thanks again, Don.

Don, can you put your finger against the ejector that isn't suppose to fire when opening the gun after firing the other barrel ? If it is just drag , you can feel it. If it actually a mechanical firing of the wrong ejector, you could tell that , too. May help get to the point.

Thanks for the suggestion Daryl. I can't get my fat finger down on the ejector, but did lift up the ejector that shouldn't fire while opening the gun after firing the other barrel. I couldn't feel it drag. But after lifting it and not letting it fall back down it would not always completely seat and would not eject the case when the other ejector fired. I also took the barrel off and checked again to see if the ejctors were binding in any way. All was well until putting downward pressure (towards the barrels) on the end of the ejector rods. By putting downward pressure and then pushing the ejectors out as they would be pushed when ejecting hulls they did bind and both moved in unison even though I was pushing on only one leg. I hope I'm making this clear. I other words, they are binding with pressure on one leg when pushing towards the barrels while pushing them out with pressure on one leg only. I think this is a start to resolving the problem. Thanks and I'll keep you posted. Don

Don, so maybe "sanding" the insides/flat side of the ejectors just a CH with 1500 emery paper and oil will solve the problem?
