Likely original wood from another gun, but the condition factors did not add up. Tight, lever right, maybe 10 pct. case colors. Asking price was $550.00 and it was still there at the end of the day. I'll admit I wondered if I could buy it for $500.00 and run it thru GunDigest for $1950.00 like "Dick or Craig"
