Ted,

She did well for the first time out. We shot 25 rounds of WR #7 and got most of them...It will take awhile to get her used to the new times...
She is wearing her old skirt, just cleaned and ironed a bit.

Nice job!! How did you get the stock cleaned up like that???
Shooting her, was she as 'tight' as everyone says French women, no, excuse me, I mean guns, are???
All the best

Acetone did not do much, I had to use sandpaper...Recut the checkering, a tricky job because I tried to follow the old one...Her wrist was broken in a few pieces.
She is still tight and positive.

Excellent job. Is that the gun that was on gunbroker.com...the Vietnam war bring back?? If so, wow. I never thought it could be done, I mean that thing looked like it had been at the bottom of a rice paddy for the last 50 years. Kudos to you to try and bring the svelte Frenchy back in to good working order. If you dont mind my asking....what shape are the barrels in?

Here are some close ups:
The job has not come up perfect. I screwed up the checqering in certain places and put my own dings on the wood as I was finishing it. She will forgive me for that, I hope.
I still have to reblue the barrels. The bores are bright, now. The chokes a little too tight for grouse...
