Craig, that is beautiful work on a gun worthy of the best work--and you did it! I think Williams & Powell produced some of the finest work ever seen in England....and it's strange how they have slipped from our view. Don't mean to "steal" your thread but thought I'd add a photo of my Williams & Powell from just a very few years later than yours. Incredible workmanship and art, just like yours. I'm sure some of the same craftsmen worked on both. God bless.

Battle... They can be a pain. Post some pics when you are done. Good luck!
Joe... I was able to handle a hammergun like yours a few years back at a shoot I was at. Very nice gun and I should have bought it. The dealer was saying how rare it was to find a W&P until I pulled my gun from it's case...

My goodness but those are beautiful hammers on your gun, Craig. W & P seems to have had a real affinity for graceful hammers. Congratulations, I know you're proud of it--and rightfully so.
What did you use to brown the barrels?

Joe, I used Pilkington's rust blue, mixed with ferric chloride. I rust, then boil the barrels to create a black surface, dry card with 4-0 steel wool, dip the barrels in a ferric chloride solution, then rinse and wet card. Do this 5-6 times. Then I rust, etch, wet card until I get the desired brown I want.

Craig, very nice barrels. I used to have a trailer next to the pistol shack by the trap line that is now parking. Shot a lot of pistol all day, then trap at night. This was back around 1972. I take it you're shooting skeet, something I'm into now. Been thinking of going back to Friendship after about 7 years of not being there. Paul

Paul, I normally shoot sporting clays at Friendship. I am a SC range officer and I also had a booth on commercial row, so I did not have much time to shoot skeet. Now I am so busy in the shop, I cannot stay for the whole shoot, so I gave up my booth and will be attending only a few days each shoot. If you come back, look me up on the SC range. I will have this gun with me. Craig

Craig, do you own Circle Fly? If so I'll be calling shortly, I'm out of 12ga wads. Although there is 40 boxes of BP loaded up at this time. Paul
