I saw one at a show today and I can't stop thinking about it. I have never seen a Syracuse before, let alone a 16. It has 30" f/f twist barrels, excellent bores, no dents, good dimensions, it fit great, repaired crack at wrist, lever slightly left but very tight, ejectors, 40% case, short chambers, felt like it weighed about 6.5 lbs. or so. I'm curious what you all think it's worth, and then I'll tell you how much it is. Being a Lefever fan, I need to re-read the DGJ article to learn more about them.

Check on our Gunshop Guns for Sale, there was a listing for a Syracuse 16g., graded gun awhile back. Listed under Ithacaman. Randy

It looked to be a lower grade, as I don't remember much if any engraving.

I seen one at the Louisville show this weekend. I think it was a 16ga. with twist barrels. Condition was just okay....300.00
I considered it, but have enough projects on going.

I presume you are talking about a Syracuse Arms Co gun. If so I would think $400 to $700 depending on the quality of the repair to the stock. 16ga are scarce and nice with ejectors. An ejector 16 gun with engraving would be 1k+ in nice condition.

If it is the one I've seen at the last few Spokane gun shows IMHO it was way overpriced.

Yes, it is a Syracuse Arms co. gun. He was asking $750. Researcher, is this the same one you saw? He does go to the Spokane show. If so, what do you think is a good price?

FWIW... the 16 at Louisville was a grade 2 with what some call American flag damascus barrels, it sold for less than $300.

If I remember correctly it was an 0E-grade -- Twist barrels, no engraving, half-pistol grip stock. To my way of thinking with the repaired cracked stock it shouldn't be over $300. But, now days maybe someone out there needs a 16-gauge Syracuse ejector since reading Tom's fine articles and the market will bear that. I hate to price other peoples goods.
