Gentlemens: I would appreciate any information you could give me on this SBT. It is a Victory grade, which I assume is fairly low on the food chain. 34" barrel. Straight grip. Serial #V 316057 My knowledge of Ithaca guns and the SBTs in general is somewhat limited, roughly to the point of none. Any information y'all can provide would be most welcome. Thanks! Glenn

Mr. Glenn doesn't normally talk like that ---- he got that "y'all" from talking to me and a few others down this a way. VBG, Ken

Glenn, Its a Flues model lowest grade as you suspected. I will look it up and post the listing a bit later.

Glenn, It's a Flues Victory Model, so it depends whether you are a collector or you want to shoot it. It does not have enough "condition" to warrant buying it as a collector. If you want to shoot it on a regular basis you are probably better off buying a Knick Victory (if you can find one) or spending a few more dollars and buying a Knick 4E, which are fairly easy to find.

Or you can buy that Knick Victory and I'll engrave it like the 4E --- it will give me the chance to pay off what I owe you. ken

A good strong shooter, but no bling. Go ahead and make some pizza gun owners turn red. Don't pay a big price just shoot big scores. bill

As stated above it is a Flues Model SBT, in this case with the third style bolting, an A.P. Curtis design covered by Patent No. 1,348,545 granted August 3, 1920, though this bolting design was used for most of the Flues SBT period from 1917 to 1922.

Might be the bottom of the food chain, but I for one would love to have an old single barrel trap like that. Bet you can kick some butt with it, too!

That's a perfect candidate for a mild PSI 1oz. load in Federal paper hulls to have a load of fun with. Put a spritz of Hoppe's #9 on your shooting coat handkerchief & you be set ;-)
What kind of pad or plate on the butt?

Flues 4e is prettier but they're the same gun under the skin. 34" barrel is amazingly swingable and not just for the 12" you need for trap. I've shot a few rounds of all singles skeet with mine and I did amazingly well on the midfield crossers and damn good letting them get out of bounds on the ends. What do you make of the missing chunk of the water table?
