William Powell, often refered to as the Purdey of Birmingham , has made many important contributions to the development of the shotgun and gun trade. In addition Mr,Peter Powell has served as the chairman of the Birmingham Proof House committee, in this capacity he has spent much time and effort in opposition to the draconian gun regulations forced on British sportsmen and the gun makers. I have visited Powells well over 100 times. I have always been treated with the utmost courtesy, given access to their records and with their sposorship toured the Birmingham Proof house.
