Fritz I think they are starting to come out of the closets and gun safes since the prices started up. I think I saw the same thing happen to the Winchester Model 42s. A year ago you couldn't find a half dozen for sale in the entire internet marketplace. I bet I can find 50 for sale today.
Three falls ago I got on an airliner with three birddogs and two guns and a bunch of stuff and flew to Canada (Saskatchewan) all by myself - and I hunted by myself. It is like it was in Texas when I was growing up. If it is not posted you can hunt it and the grain crops are everywehere. Very little was posted. Huns, Prairie Chickens, some kind of grouse different than a Prairie chicken. They had wheat fields as large as 15 sections - that is a single field - 10,000 acre of wheat! Soft rolling hills.
As far as the Lone Star I am allergic to alcohol and had to quit. When I drink I break out in a drunk.
This gun has 30" barrel and weighs 7lbs 3oz. I figure when I get a proper butt plate on it it will lose a couple of ounces. It feels lighter than that. Both the EE and the G weigh about 6lbs 12oz

The screw end visable above & forward of the plate cross screw is the screw the sear is hung from. The low one in the rear of the plate is the sear engagement adjustment screw. During this time it was slotted on the inside, so the plate had to be removed to make adjustment. The hammer axle goes through the rear lower part of the frame, so if it has the turned ends they would appear as small pins in the lower portion of the plates just forward of where the stock meets the frame. Only one I have with this feature is a G SN 20,633. This is also the only one I have with the two pins in extractor.

Hi Miller. Mine doesn't have hammer pins protuding through the sideplate. None of my screwdrivers fit the screw or I would take the sidelocks/plates off and take a picture. Interesting. Do you know what these two setscrews in the floorplate do? They appear to be the same size as the two set screws near the fences.  Thanks! Mike

The two screws in the floorplate are what Lefever called "Rebounding Screws". The lower leg of the main spring comes to rest on them. By seting them where the firing pin is about flush with the brech face the hammer inertia is sufficient for adequate ignition, but the firing pin is then free to move back preventing drag upon opening the gun. I do not currently have a pic iof the sideplates with the hammer axle showing, but will try & take one soon. Will see if can also get some good shots of My FE plates SN 38,025. The duck looks very much like yours & it has a quail on other plate. I am not currently set up on a picture program for posting, but would be happy to e-mail direct if you would pm me an e-mail address.

Nice Battle. I saw a pivot lever a couple of weeks ago. Very interesting. I think the pivot levers also have the adjustable bolt - is that right? How much does the gun weigh? Barrel length? Ejectors?

Here are Miller's (2-piper) pictures. The quotes are from Miller's email "Here is the pic of the G with the hammer axle showing & also both sides of my FE. The small pin visible just below the E in Lefever is the hammer axle. As you can see this gun is not quite immaculate, SN is 20,633."  "Am doing two shots of each side of the FE showing whole side plate & then a closer view of the engraving. This one you will note does not have the sear adjusting screws & is SN'd @ 38,025.
