The two screws in the floorplate are what Lefever called "Rebounding Screws". The lower leg of the main spring comes to rest on them. By seting them where the firing pin is about flush with the brech face the hammer inertia is sufficient for adequate ignition, but the firing pin is then free to move back preventing drag upon opening the gun. I do not currently have a pic iof the sideplates with the hammer axle showing, but will try & take one soon. Will see if can also get some good shots of My FE plates SN 38,025. The duck looks very much like yours & it has a quail on other plate.
