I thought for about 4 hours on the barrel length the day the RBL-28 was announced before placing my order. Between the Wife and I we already have 3 28-gauge doubles with 26-inch barrels, so that choice was automatically out. We have two over/unders with 28-inch barrels, but thought long and hard on that length to match the Launch Edition 20-gauge. Finally decided to go with the 30-inchers and the tighter chokes, and call it a Dove gun.
Chuck,
That picture reminds me of my Navy days in San Diego. While the Leathernecks came to town to drink on the weekends us Navy guys would camp on the beaches up at the lovely shooting preserve the Corps provided and do maneuvers on those huge gangs of top-knotted little birds on those steep hillsides. Our routine was usually to try and get two guys on the top of the ridge above them and the other two work up from below. We killed a lot of birds and I hadn't yet suffered 30 years of sitting at a government desk in Washington, DC!! I fear this unusually heavy snow this winter is not doing our Washington State Quail any good.
