Take the barrels off and look at the water table. should be a 4 or a 5 over the gauge, 12 in this case. Thanks Walter. Found a 4 right above the 12. Sorry about the trigger lock. Mass. is tough on these. I shouldhave just bought 2 dozen keyed alike. But back when they pushed it a few years ago it was a mad rush to get in compliance and a singular key didn't cross my mind. Thanks for the help everyone. Now that I figured out how to post pictures I'll take the Kirkwood down and photo it.

Looks like a beauty! Low pressure loads only.
So many guns, so little time!

That is a beautiful gun that looks to be in wonderful original condition. Not sure where you are located in Mass, but if you need any recommendations on gunsmiths, let me know. Thanks for sharing, enjoy her.

That is the 4E pattern used prior to 1915. Later 4E guns have bolder, but certainly not better, engraving.

Not at this time. But may be later in the year. main problem is I would have no idea what to ask for it. Both bores are bright, case color is much better than photos show. Only flaw I see is a small rub on the rib abd a chip on the butt plate.

It looks like a wonderful Ithaca gun. Whoever handed this gun down to you had an eye for quality. Enjoy. Paul Driscoll

Actually it was passed down to me by my grandfather(he is 88). And to him by his father.
