I'm considering a recoil pad for a Fox 12 guage project gun. I like the the traditional Silvers style pads for looks but are there better options in the way of comfort that will not look out of place?

Leather would not look out of place on a graded Fox although, some may argue that for A/B grades... I have a A-grade project that I'll be putting a Silvers on. A friend has a Sterlingworth that has a red Old English and it looks very nice against the oil-finished original american black walnut stock. I believe Fox used to offer Jotsam Anti-flinch pads as an option that would have been a likely choice for a Sterlingworth, but don't think replicas are available today.

If it's not a serious target gun, (i.e., likely to be used for 100+ targets in a day) I opt for a Pachmayr Old English Decelerator in .6 or .8 thickness. They're cheap, offer a touch of comfort and don't call attention to themselves when I'm not looking to make a statement.
