I picked up a 12ga Flues that seems to 'over-break' and the cocking cam/shaft(that goes through the bbl lug)is too short/worn/cobbled and moves past the cocking levers and then jams...
I've got a few of these guns but none bad enough to 'parts-out'.
The SN on this guy is 2437xx... Does anyone have any of these parts available?... Thanks-Doug

Doug,

Doug Turnbull had some made up awhile back. They're "in the white" and need fitting. You might want to call him.

Reply from Turnbulls about Flues parts....

Rob,

I am not sure who told you we had parts for Ithaca Flues Model guns but that is not the case. We actually stopped working on Flues Model guns about 2 ½ years ago because we could not find spare/replacement parts for the guns. We do not have any parts for Flues Model guns at all and we do not do any repair work on them anymore. You might try contacting Gunther Pfrommer at 540-484-5555. He worked for Ithaca Classic Doubles and he does repair work on these earlier Ithaca’s.

Good luck and sorry we could not help you.

Peter

Doug, Les Hovencamp at Diamond gunsmithing is the guy to talk to. He worked on my Wifes Flues and did a great job. He said at that time he had some spare parts. Perhaps he can help you out. IMHO he is the guy you would want to work on your Ithaca guns. Here is the link to his web site.

I will second that on Les. Very good guy and very knowlegable on Flues. He helped me with parts for a couple of mine. You may have to leave a message for him but he is great about returning calls.

I just looked at Diamond's metal restoration section.

"Double Gun Restoration - Barrels slow rust blued. Frame is case colored (torch method)."

Looks like Ed found a home.

Seriously, can torching a frame for colores be good for the gun?

I just looked at the same site. I don't see any "metal restoration" section. I also don't see any section marked "double gun restoration".

If I were Les I would be deeply offended for comparing him to "Ed The Torch"
Are you sure you have the right site? I used the link to go there and saw nothing about anything you say.

If he is telling you he is going to use the torch to color the reciever, this is not dishonest. An "Ed the Torch" comparison is out of line.
I talked to Les about coloring a flues I have, and he offerd torch as a cheap solution, or tradional for more money. Very honest and fair.
Call him and talk to him, I am sure you will find he knows his business.
