Thanks everyone for your replies. The Bo-Whoop competition isn't for everyone, there's a lot of diversity and different perspectives on things. Those who like Fox Guns and enjoy talking and shooting them will find a lot of friends at Hidden Hollow. Not to mention the other fine double gun people who favor Parkers, L. C. Smiths, Lefevers, etc. The Hidden Hollow spring event is possibly the largest side x side event here in the east in the spring. The Bo-Whoop trophy is the first one the A.H. Fox Collectors Assoc. has in the works. Stayed tuned! Silvers

Rough crowd! They obviously don't like wearing ties as they threaten to shoot them off! (Sorry, it just struck me funny the way it was stated).

Two dollars a target is a stiff tariff. Good FITASC targets are regularly priced like that, but then FITASC requires trained referees and it's very land and trap intensive with multiple parcours and pegs to be set. This is a side event using a tower and two traps so cost to put it on is minimal.
But if the Bo Whoop competition is for bragging rights while generating money for a new collector/shooter organization then cost isn't the issue! So why limit it to just Fox owners? Why not try to make MORE money by opening it up to owners of those "other" vintage doubles that competed for honors with Buckingham's Fox "during the day"?
This Fox Collectors event should be the "Bo Whoop Long Bird Challenge" open to all comers with a Parker, L.C.Smith, LeFever, etc. of the same vintage as Bo Whoop...winner take all in the form of bragging rights with their name and gun make engraved on the trophy. That makes for more fun, more money for the organization and more bragging rights year after year. Just a thought.

It is pretty common to see a long bird competition priced at 3 pairs/$10 with a 50/50 payback. I might try to get to this shoot, I haven't been to a side by side shoot, since the GLSSA ones.

Sharps; I have an idea for you why don't your write to the Elsie and Parkers powers to be at their collector groups and ask them to open the challenge at the South shoot to Fox, Winch M-21, LeFever etc? Jeezz. Fox comes up with a good idea to commemorate their historical fox gun and you want to get others in the shootoff? Gimme a break. Also this doesn't sound like Fitasc or long bird shooting don't try to compare apples and oranges.

Cherry Bomb, Yes, there is a Parker vs. Elsie Challenge...at least they have two groups working together. I meant no disrespect to the new Fox group, just thought perhaps they could generate even more funds and have more fun with their maiden "side event" if they made it an OPEN Challenge...sorry you found it such an offensive thought.
Now, here's an idea for you...instead of taking umbrage at my innocuous comments with a ridiculous rant that adds nothing to the discussion, why don't you just ignore my post, or disagree silently and save everyone your boring righteous indignation.

Sharps; I was only following your advice when I replied. Btw -no need to use complex terminolgy as in your second pg. Are you trying to talk above me? You'd better check on the Desert Doubles Teddy Roosevelt shoot here on another thread. They are limiting it to Fox Lefever and Ithaca guns.

I would definatly go if it was closer and the restock job on my sterlingworth was complete. One of the barrel sets patterns really well.

A friend sent me xerox photos of a gun he found a long time ago. Too bad he doesn't have a digital camera, but here it is. I wonder what BoWhoop would be like ?
