Mark, I can only speculate that your horn tip may have aquired that color from oxidation or something like that. My horn tip is black for better choice of words with the typical lighter lamination streaking you normally find in horn.

That said I have the original horn forend tip for my Lefever Optimus? quality that was a funky shade of green when I received the gun. So who knows what causes some of the things we see on these old guns

I took my grandson over to the NFL Experience in Glendale today so I also stopped in at Cabelas to look at the Daly. The stock is most definitely a replacement when viewed close up and is short as Jerry indicated above. The other thing that struck me about this gun is it's heavier feeling than it appears to be. At $8999 I suspect this is going to be a tough sell.
On the other hand; there's a really nice DH grade Parker 12 ga damascus in the rack for $4999. It appears to be pretty much all original.
