FWIW when I was a lad of ten (61 years ago) every boy had a Daisy Red Ryder BB gun carbine. These guns had a small orifice in the lower part of the barrel as I remember. De reguer for the day was for every boy so armed to carry his tube of lead BB shot in his cheek most of the day. To reload the gun nothing was more adroit than the pursing of lips around that loading port. Most of my boyhood buddies are still alive and in moderately good health for men in their 70's.
