Look for cracks behind the receiver. They're about the only thing you ever find wrong with SKB sxs. Not hard to fix if they're still small.

I have to wonder if it is the one I bought at the PGCA show sunday? The description fits. It has some finish blemishes, both metal and wood, but it is much better than the one I sold 15yrs ago for the same price I paid.

My suspicion is that the seller went to that show. He has not returned my attempt to contact. I was at the show Sunday and saw only a 20ga SKB 100 for $950. If you bought it from an individual seller you may have the one of which I speak. Congratulations! I will comfort myself knowing I own too many already(more than one!) Best to you. Kurt

I got it from a dealer that is a regular at shows in the area, but it sounded like he was selling it for a friend? You know how evasive dealers can be... It was priced at $475, and I put it down and finished the show, without spending any $$, so I went back, and ended up getting it for $400. It is a 100, but the frame is fully engraved(blued) like a 200? I don't know if this was a variation, or an accident? (numbers match)

I sold a 12 gauge ITHACA/SKB Model 100 recently for $565. The buttstock had a repaired crack, otherwise 95%. The buyer was pleased, and so was I.

Last one I have seen was blemishless 12ga with 30" barrels and pro-fitted high quality black pad for $650. I thought it was great deal. Unlike that 30" 12ga BSS it wasn't a crowbar either.

I think the reason the stocks cracked on the SKB's was partially from the scallops and mostly from the walnut used. I think it was some kind of walnut grown in Japan. The stock will crack if the thrue bolt is loose but it can also crack from over tightening. My factory stock cracked early on from a loose thrue bolt and was replaced with Black Walnut. It took 30 years of hard use to start to develop cracks in the head and I believe they came from over tightening it. Go easy on the nut and check it occasionaly.

Hey Bret, The latter 100s had the full engraving. If it has a full beaver tail then it's a 150. It should also have a pin where the older ones had a screw on the sides of the frame. Is it a 3" chamber? The early ones were only 2 3/4" except the 20s, latter guns were usually 3" in both gauges. Tim, it is engraved the same as the one in the link. All pins in the frame, no screws. 2 3/4", no beavertail, no pad.
There were a couple 17's there, but neither was nice. Cut stocks, Poly chokes, reblued, holes in the receiver, so I figured you had already owned them.....LOL
