I have a LC Smith receiver which has been stripped and polished and need to have it case color hardened. With the loss of Oscar I'm not sure who to send it to. There is (was) a company in Ohio who did color case hardening, but I can't find contact info for them. I also lost a contact name and number for an individual in Wyoming who could do the job and also blue the parts needing bluing. Can anyone help me with some names and numbers? Thanks, Don

You are likely thinking of Don Menk, Color Case Company, 14435 Unity Road, New Springfield, OH 44443, telephone 330 542 2062. He has done good work for me in the past.

Thanks for the quick response! I'm more than a little embarassed to report I found the contact info I was looking for. My "file system" consists of placing important (to me) contact information on top of either the microwave in the kitchen by the phone or on top of my wife's piano. I went through the piles last night and overlooked what I was searching for. It drives my wife wild as there is a 3-4 year back log which keeps growing. One was indeed Color-case Company. The other was Allen Springer at Snowy Mountain Blue in Moore, MT. Is anyone familar with his work or had any experiences with Allen? TIA Don.

John G. was a "student" of OG's. He is where I'd go first.

John at Classic does about 50 pieces for me a year and for the past eight years he has never failed to give my clients exactly what they wanted. I can't recomend him enough. Ken
