I guess I'd go for an extra finish best quality vintage Hammer Pigeon gun,29" steel bbls, with Jones U/L if possible....around 7 or 71/4lb ..I wouldn't really be too fussy who made it...you know...Atkin, Purdey,Holland,Scott,Woodward ...whoever. That would keep me pretty happy cheers Franc

m12, sunny day, crunchy snow, rabbits in the salvage yard. Or a Woodward underlever would be OK for dreaming on.

My dream gun would be one of Ken Hurst's new Lefevers (dolled up to the limit of my disposable income, of course)if that project gets off the planning table..Geo

For a scattergun another LC Smith "Ideal," this one a FW16 with ejectors, Miller trigger, hi-rib, half pistol grip stock w/splinter, and 28" IC/F chokes. For a rifle, a Win 1885 Hi-wall .25-35 w/28" rd barrel. For a sidegun, a Colt Shooting Master in .45ACP. Probably never see these, but at least I know what I want....

For decades I have been hunting with guns that are close to my dream gun. One was a Carl Stegele kombi gun, one 16X67 and one 7X57R barrel, others were Husqvarna or Sauer 16X65 or 16X67, long barreled hammer doubles, a Browning micro medallian turnbolt in 7X51. All have taken plenty of game on hunts.
But, my dream gun would combine these. A nice drilling with two 16 gauge barrels and one 7X57R rifle barrel, low-mounted QD 1X5 scope, 7,0 lbs max with scope and sling. Nice wood, high quality checkering, some engraving, excellent handling as slightly muzzle-heavy shotgun, choked full and quarter. If a modern gun, barrels suitable for HeviShot. All trigger pulls about 3,5 lbs and crisp, adjustable single selective trigger for rifle barrel. Stocked to fit me well for shooting from either shoulder. Maker could be Sauer, Merkel, Ferlach, etc.

I have my SxS 450EL beretta 12ga and 411E 16ga to make me smile for a while. Now I am preparing this year to pursue an O/U. I lust after an SO5 from the early years engraved by Angelo Baglioni. The off season hunt is almost as much fun as the real hunting season. Shooting clays and searching out a new gun starts now and ends in September. Happy New Year all, Ron

A well used original #3 Sharps 74 in .50-90 with a heavy barrel and perfect rifling. At a price I can afford...
