Gentlemen,
I have a FW model in 12ga that in all appearence is a very solid gun. I have used it only a couple times to hunt with and it has been little more than a gun in my collection until now. I have decided I want to use it more in the field. My question is this: when I break the gun open it makes a metallic ping. Is this normal? Nothing seems wrong and it has always done it. I just wonder what is going on. I have asked others with Smiths if their's do the same, but none remember if their gun makes the ping, nor to check their guns and get back to me? So I ask here.
