Cary:

Well stated. And with the highway construction in Augusta, it looked as though Sherman was on his way to Columbia with his Urban Renewal Program again.

If you happenacross Sherman, send him back to Atlanta. Even though he left it in ruins, the current residents have run it downhill!

Amen to Atlanta being run downhill. Particularly Fulton County. If you can manage to run straight through it pretty quickly and get on up to Cobb County, it's still nice.

Dig -- can't wait to see your report in DGJ, on both the guns and your impressions of Dixie. Were there any CSA-marked Enfields in the sale? If not they must be saving them for another invasion.

If you would like a transcript of the lecture notes, I'll be happy to send them to you. They are from the draft for my next book and go right up to WW2!

Dig:

I would take any offer that provides info from the horse's mouth as am having a little trouble as to where the term "inert" needs to go and hope that your notes have the phrases "explosions 3 inches from your nose", "Greener was a difficult man" and "pound for pound"(one could have a well built boxlock) are included. Thanks for the offer & I'll drop you an email.

Kind Regards,
