Instead of snow, we're getting freezing rain in December. Deer hunting in the first weeks of November used to be a cold weather affair, in the last years or so, it's been in the high sixties.
This deer season I hunted in a lite blaze orange fleece and had plenty of Gator Aid.
...and the ducks are late too, and so is winter.
Prolly all due to the large SUVs going to the malls.

There can be no doubt that things are changing. Sunday morning after a storm (finally) arrived from our northwestern neighbors, I went Duck hunting. I walked several miles of the Republican River, just north of where it comes out of Colorado. Surely there would be Mallards on it! Not a one. There was almost NO water in the streambed, What had been a robust prairie river now was maybe a foot wide, banks overgrown, several inches deep. Our deer season, just finished was warm and dry. Scary. Packed the "Big 10" E Grade on my walk. Like Dad said, "you can't spoil a good walk by carrying a shotgun".

I'm shocked to see the Times allowing that hunters were the first at going green. Somethings up in New York...hunters and Al Gore having coffee together...we must be in deep!!!!here on planet earth.

In Atlantic Canada, we're seeing geese that never showed up here.

LGF,

Thanks for the link. Great article. I posted in on a local board for the waterfowl hunters to enjoy.

Great article. I don't think we can ignore that there has been a change. I was bear hunting in a t-shirt last week and the high is in the 70s today.

Yes, and I am old enough to remember 1970's when we all thought the second ice age was coming! I lived in Alaska back then and it was cold! When will it change again? I don't know and how can the weather forecasters; they can't even get a 5 day forecast right more than 50% of the time.

Fellow Doublegunners. Don't fret the oncoming global warming, cause it will bring about the return of the Pterodactyls and Plesiosaurs. They will darken the skies. You thought folks had concern over goose clunkers on their docks and fareways now, wait till they get a look at Pterodactyl sqeezens. Another positive will be no bag limits. BB or 0000B would be the shot of choice. I also hear they taste like chicken. Yes, the good ole days are about to return. Randy

Yeh, we're in deep feces. I always get a big laugh when some ole' boy says he is going to leave his: Purdey, Parker,.....to his newborn grandkid. Whaaaat?
Couple of degrees makes no difference to man or dog, but is a big deal to those critters at the very bottom of the food chain.
